| Abstract | Flying Ad hoc NETwork (FANET) can be classified as a new family member of ad hoc networks, e.g. MANET (Mobile Ad hoc NETwork), and VANET (Vehicle Ad hoc NETwork). It is formed by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). In literatures, most researchers study the effects of routing protocols in the same altitude for FANET. The interesting question is whether the routing protocols can perform better in different altitude or not. In this paper, the performances of three routing protocols, i.e. DSDV, DSR and AODV, are studied. The paparazzi mobility model is selected because it is similar to the reality movement of UAVs and there are five different movement patterns. In this work, different altitude scenarios at 1 and 2 meters apart are studied and compared with the same altitude scenario. Four performance metrics, i.e. packet delivery ratio (PDR), end-to-end delay, throughput, and routing overhead are compared. The best results at 1 meter different show that the performance in the different altitude scenarios outperforms the same altitude scenario in AODV. AODV showed the improvement on end-to-end delay which decreased 75.86% and routing overhead which decreased 20.53%. In addition, PDR and throughput are both increased 3.46%. For DSR and DSDV, the performances are similar in all scenarios. However, the performances at 2-meter apart scenario are not as good as at 1-meter apart scenario. It is interesting to analyze and investigate more on the different altitude scenarios. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
