Abstract	The increasing range and complexity of automotive applications, the need to master development costs using off-the-shelf components, the coexistence of critical and noncritical applications, and the emergence of new architectural paradigms may have a strong impact on dependability of automotive embedded systems. This situation calls for novel design and validation methods, but also tools to improve the robustness of automotive systems and their safety properties. The evolution of automotive systems is currently influenced by standards like Autosar and will soon be constrained by norms like ISO26262. They are addressing architectural and development approaches, in which dependability issues are a real concern. The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the design, implementation and operation of critical automotive applications and systems. Theoretical work, design and validation approaches, and experience reports need to be discussed among people belonging to different communities. Numerous high-quality papers for a single day workshop have been received and carefully reviewed by the program committee. We would like to warmly thank the program committee members for the excellent work they have done. In the program, we tried to accommodate as many papers as possible to give a chance to more people to participate and express their views. As expected for a workshop, the program includes space for discussion in addition to the sessions.
