| Abstract | Welcome to Kyoto and the 5th ACM International Conference on Collaboration Across Boundaries: Culture, Distance and Technology (CABS '14). CABS '14 showcases the very best research exploring the nature of, and ways to facilitate, intercultural collaboration. CABS is a multidisciplinary forum that includes behavioral, socio-cultural and technical perspectives, with the objective of exchanging the latest knowledge about intercultural collaboration. This diversity of perspectives is mirrored by geographic diversity among contributors. CABS '14 is the 5th conference in the series formerly called the International Conference on Intercultural Collaboration (ICIC). The CABS '14 program presents an exciting set of workshops, full papers, panels, and late breaking papers. For the papers program, submissions were solicited under three broad topics: Communication and Management, Computer-Mediated Collaboration, and Cross-linguistic Communication. We received 24 submissions and after careful peer review by an interdisciplinary team of experts, we accepted 13 (54%), The program also includes 8 Late Breaking Papers that report on work in progress or newly completed. These will be presented during a special interactive poster session. Special highlights include our opening plenary talk, "Language, Culture and Boundary-Spanning: Pushing the Frontiers of Research on Global Learning and Innovation," by Mary Yoko Brannen of Victoria University, our second day opening plenary, "Cross Cultural Research, Innovation and Design in 2050," by Apala Lahiri Chavan of the Institute of Customer Experience, and our closing plenary, "Evolution of Human Mind and Culture Viewed From the Study of Chimpanzees," by Tetsuro Matsuzawa of Kyoto University. The conference also includes many exciting cultural events to help attendees get the most out of their stay in Kyoto. These include a Meeting the Zen Spirit" at Kenninji temple - the oldest zen temple - on Thursday morning, a conference reception and calligraphy exercise. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
