| Abstract | In this paper, we address the problem of designing a wireless sensor network to ensure that a dynamical cyber-physical system can be structurally identifiable, stabilizable and private. In particular, we provide a deployment scheme of sensors, and set the communication protocol among these, such that a building model can be identified to permit the implementation of control laws that enforce a specified temperature profile in the rooms. Meanwhile, we aim to identify the model while not allowing the information related with the rooms' temperature to be retrievable from any special location. Towards this goal, we design a wireless sensor network performing linear updates, instead of the usual multi-hop routing of packages carrying information about the system, known to be suitable to stabilize the linear time-invariant system. Hereafter, the main contribution is to show that some special structures allow structural identifiability, stabilizability and privacy. Finally, the main results of the paper are used to ensure all the above properties in the Intelligent Workplace (IW-North) at Carnegie Mellon University. |
