| Abstract | The Symposium on Facial Analysis and Animation (FAA) provides a forum for research at the intersection of computer vision and animation as applied to faces. We established this workshop to answer a need for a meeting devoted specifically to this rapidly growing area. Following on the success of FAA 2009, the meeting is again held in Edinburgh, in the Informatics Forum of the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics. This year, the meeting will be held in cooperation with ACM and sponsored by the Social Signal Processing Network (SSPNET), a European Network of Excellence. The aim of this one-day workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry (particularly the visual effects and games industries) interested in all aspects of facial animation and related analysis, including these key areas: •Acquisition of facial shape, motion and texture •Performance-driven animation and expression mapping •Facial animation using example-based synthesis and motion graphs •Facial animation production pipelines •Visual speech synthesis •Animation of non-linguistic behaviors and vocalisations •Perception of facial animation and the "Uncanny Valley" •Facial rendering (photorealistic and non-photorealistic) The high quality of the submissions we received demonstrates the continuing robustness of this field. Each submission was reviewed by at least three of the Chairs. Of the 21 accepted submissions, 10 were chosen to be presented orally in four sessions of talks and 11 as posters, which were presented along with industry demos. In addition to the reviewed contributions, we are honored to have two invited speakers: Catherine Pelachaud and Bernd Bickel. Professor Pelachaud is Director of Research at LTCI, a joint laboratory of CNRS and Telecom ParisTech, which has broad interest in human-computer interaction with emphasis on language, expression and graphics. Bernd Bickel is a research scientist at Disney Research Zurich, and has produced ground-breaking work in facial and soft-tissue modeling, next-generation 3D scanning devices and performance capture. Abstracts for oral presentations and posters are included in these proceedings. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
