| Abstract | The development of a set of utility macro-instructions (called TMML) for use with mini-computer assembly languages is described. Each macro call is similar to a typical high-level language statement thus allowing a more structured approach to the assembly coding process. A unique feature of TMML is its ability to be freely intermixed with straight assembly code with no modifications necessary in the assembly coding process. Although TMML may be viewed as a programming language in which one may freely intermix assembly code, it should more properly be viewed as a means of enhancing programming in assembly language by freely intermixing TMML constructs. This implementation was done on a Data General ECLIPSE series computer. The implementation methodology is detailed in this paper to allow for use of TMML on many computer models and types. |
