| Claim | A method comprising: cause rendering of a notification representation of a notification that signifies notification content within a graphical user interface on a display; receiving an indication of an invocation input at the graphical user interface for invocation of display of, at least part of, the notification content, wherein the invocation input comprises at least in part a touch input; determining an attentiveness level of a user based on at least one input aspect of the invocation input associated with the notification representation, the input aspect being at least one of a movement speed, a force, a direction, or a number of contact inputs; determining an interaction preference from among a plurality of different interaction preferences based, at least in part, on the input aspect, wherein each of the different interaction preferences is a directive that governs at least one of: one of: an amount of the notification content to be displayed, a duration associated with display of the notification content, a speed associated with display of the notification content, and an animation associated with display of the notification content; and after the receiving of the indication of the invocation input has completed, causing display of, at least part of, the notification content on the display in compliance with the determined interaction preference such that the amount of the notification content displayed is directly proportional to the determined attentiveness leve The method of claim 1 , wherein the duration associated with display of the notification content is at least one of: a duration for retention of the notification content, a duration for introduction of the notification content, or a duration for removal of the notification content. The method of claim 1 , wherein causing display of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference comprises causing retention of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference. The method of claim 1 , wherein the invocation input comprises an initiation part and a termination part and wherein the causation of display of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference is performed after the termination part of the invocation input. The method of claim 1 , wherein the display is a see through display, and the amount of notification content to be displayed on the see through display is based, at least in part, on obscurance of display area associated with the see through display. The method of claim 1 , wherein the notification relates to at least one of an email, an instant message, and a text message, and wherein the notification representation is absent any part of the notification content. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the invocation input is received from an input device that is physically decoupled from the display. At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform: cause rendering of a visual representation of a notification within a graphical user interface on a display that signifies notification content on a display; receiving an indication of an invocation input at the graphical interface associated with the visual representation for invocation of display of, at least part of, the notification content, wherein the invocation input comprises at least in part a touch input; determining an attentiveness level of a user based on at least one input aspect of the invocation input, the input aspect being at least one of a movement speed, a force, a direction, or a number of contact inputs; determining an interaction preference from among a plurality of different interaction preferences based, at least in part, on the input aspect, wherein each of the different interaction preferences is a directive that governs at least one of: an amount of the notification content to be displayed, a duration associated with display of the notification content, a speed associated with display of the notification content, and an animation associated with display of the notification content; and after the receiving of the indication of the invocation input has completed, causing display of, at least part of, the notification content on the display in compliance with the determined interaction preference such that the amount of the notification content displayed is directly proportional to the determined attentiveness leve The medium of claim 8 , wherein the duration associated with display of the notification content is at least one of: a duration for retention of the notification content, a duration for introduction of the notification content, or a duration for removal of the notification content. The medium of claim 8 , wherein causing display of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference comprises causing retention of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference. The medium of claim 8 , wherein the notification relates to at least one of an email, an instant message, and a text message, and wherein the notification representation is absent any part of the notification content. An apparatus, comprising: at least one processor; at least one memory including computer program code, the memory and the computer program code configured to, working with the processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following: cause rendering of a notification representation of a notification within a graphical user interface on a display that signifies notification content; receive an indication of an invocation input at the graphical user interface associated with the notification representation for invocation of display of, at least part of, the notification content, wherein the invocation input comprises at least in part a touch input; determine an attentiveness level of a user based on at least one input aspect of the invocation input, the input aspect being at least one of a movement speed, a force, a direction, or a number of contact inputs; determine an interaction preference from among a plurality of different interaction preferences based, at least in part, on the input aspect, wherein each of the interaction preferences is a directive that governs at least one of: an amount of the notification content to be displayed, a duration associated with display of the notification content, a speed associated with display of the notification content, and an animation associated with display of the notification content; and after reception of the indication of the invocation input has completed, cause display of, at least part of, the notification content on the display in compliance with the determined interaction preference such that the amount of the notification displayed is directly proportional to the determined attentiveness leve The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the duration associated with display of the notification content is at least one of: a duration for retention of the notification content, a duration for introduction of the notification content, or a duration for removal of the notification content. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein causing display of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference comprises causing retention of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the invocation input comprises an initiation part and a termination part and wherein the causation of display of the notification content in compliance with the interaction preference is performed after the termination part of the invocation input. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the display is a see through display, and wherein the amount of notification content to be displayed on the see through display is based, at least in part, on obscurance of display area associated with the see through display. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the input is a duration of a movement input comprised by the invocation input, and wherein the interaction preference aspect is at least one of: introduction of the notification content having a duration that is directly proportional to the duration of the movement input, retention of the notification content having a duration that is directly proportional to the duration of the movement input, or removal of the notification content having a duration that is directly proportional to the duration of the movement input. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the apparatus comprises a display and the causation of display of, at least part of, the notification content comprises displaying, at least part of, the notification content on the display. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the notification relates to at least one of an email, an instant message, and a text message, and wherein the notification representation is absent any part of the notification content. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the indication of the invocation input is received from an input device that is physically decoupled from the display. |
