Temporal Coverage | 1900-1900 |
Description | The Florida Sentinel, originating from Pensacola, Florida, began its publication in 1887, with its end date unspecified. Part of its archived issues were microfilmed as part of the Miscellaneous Negro newspapers microfilm collection, a project initiated by the Committee on Negro Studies of the American Council of Learned Societies in 1947. This collection aimed to preserve African American newspapers from the 19th and 20th centuries. While the microfilm collection comprises selections from over 150 U.S. newspaper titles, including The Florida Sentinel, a complete list of all digitized African American titles available in the Chronicling America collection provides further coverage and information. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1900 of this newspaper. |
