Description | The Idaho Tri-Weekly World, published in Idaho City in 1875, was a short-lived expansion of the Idaho World newspaper, known for its Democratic outlook and fiery editorial content. Founded in 1864 by Isaac Bowman and Henry Street, the Idaho World initially ran as a weekly publication before briefly adopting a semi-weekly schedule from May 1867 to November 1868. The Tri-Weekly World was introduced in March 1875, printed on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, alongside the regular weekly edition on Fridays. This aggressive printing schedule, however, lasted only a few months before reverting to semi-weekly publication until June 1908. The newspaper was known for its partisan stance, including racist content and attacks on Republicans and Unionists. Despite its political fervor, the Idaho World maintained a focus on local mining interests, covering discoveries, claims, and sales in the Boise Basin and surrounding areas. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1875 of this newspaper. |
