Description | The Daily Enterprise, founded in 1857 and published by Bonsall, Atwell, and Mason, aimed to establish a daily newspaper in Wilmington, Delaware. Henry Bonsall served as editor, and though its run was short, at least thirteen issues were published. It featured national and local news, advertisements, and amusements, alongside poetry and market prices. Housed on Fifth and Market Streets, it cost one cent per issue. Despite its brief existence, no daily newspaper emerged in Wilmington until the Daily Commercial in 1866. Following its closure, Henry Bonsall found success with the Camden Daily Post in New Jersey until his death in 1900. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1858 of this newspaper. |
