Description | The Pine Bluff Weekly Herald, published in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, has a portion of its issues digitized as part of the Miscellaneous Negro newspapers microfilm collection. This collection, consisting of 12 reels, contains issues of African American newspapers published across the United States during the 19th and 20th centuries. Sponsored by the Committee on Negro Studies of the American Council of Learned Societies in 1947, the microfilm project aimed to preserve and provide access to these historical newspapers. For more details on the microfilm collection, refer to the publication "Negro Newspapers on Microfilm, a Selected List" (Library of Congress), published in 1953. While this collection includes selections from over 150 U.S. newspaper titles, those interested in further coverage can explore a complete list of all digitized African American titles available in the Chronicling America collection. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1900 of this newspaper. |
