Abstract | A fossil wood, Dipterocarpoxylon bolpurense Ghosh & Roy is described from a new locality, Bisalgarh, situated near Agartala, Tripura. It shows affinities with Dipterocarpus of Dipterocarpaceae and its presence indicates the occurrence of tropical evergreen forest in the vicinity. |
