Abstract | Fossil woods representing the genera Calophyllumof Guttiferae, Terminalia of Combretaceae, andAfzelia and Intsia of Leguminosae have been identified from the Tertiary beds of NEFA. Thewood specimens were collected from the bed ofRiver Namsang near the headquarters of theKhonsa Forest Division at Deomali. These woodsare of interest anatomically as well as from thestandpoint of their palaeogeographic distribution. |
