Abstract | In this paper a fossil dicotyledonous wood from the Deccan Intertrappean beds of Mahurzari (21°13'N; 79°1'E) near Nagpur, India has been described. It has been assigned to the genus Barringtonioxylon Shallom (1960a) and described as B. eopterocarpum sp. nov. because of its marked similarity with the wood structure of Barringtonia pterocarpa Kurz of Lecythidaceae. |
