| Description | The Assam Institute of Research for Tribals and Scheduled Castes, has been publishing research bulletin annually, is one of the regular academic activities. This is the XIV issue of bulletin. It contains six research articles on various aspect of Tribal. The first article is on a brief introduction to the cultural affinities of the Indo Mongoloid people of the North Eastern India. The Second article deals with the failure of pipe water scheme Ac ase study on Karbi Anglong District of Assam. The objective of the paper is to find out the cause of failure of such scheme and to suggest remedial measure thereof. The study reveal that though much advancement in technological development for drinking water has been made in India, the hill areas of Assam is still suffering from the basic problems. The third article is on Rabhas, Their society and culture. The paper highlighted on social and cultural aspect of Rabha including origin and migration. The Fourth article is on Malaria: A major health problem in Karbi Anglong District. The paper attempt to highlight, the disease malaria in general is a major killer of Children, pregnant women, where children death rate is very high. The fifth article is on Deoris about their educational problems. The paper highlighted on establishment of school in their locality to minimise school dropout and for all round development and the sixth article is on Status of primary education in the hill districts of Assam, a social assessment study in Karbi Anglong district. The study reveals that due various factor the education scenario cannot be said satisfactory, few suggestion has been incorporated in it. A note containing information and type of activities undertaken by this Institute was also incorporated in this bulletin as general information. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
