Description | The goddess Devi sits on a lotus flower in the middle of the scene against a blue sky, behind her two turned elephants who sprinkle her with coiled trunks, on either side of her a servant with a trident, the left servant is dark, the right light colored, both have four arms, for the right servant a child crawling towards the goddess in a golden robe; at the bottom of the green meadow a company of servants sits two by two around an altar, here again two four-amed servants in different colours, but now the lighter one on the left and the darker one on the right, elephants playing in the foreground among lotus flowers in a pond; on the right comes a royally dressed party with hands folded in prayer, a monarch who is preceded by two children and followed by two women. A narrow band in red around the image; minor damage. |
