Description	Namwar Singh is a famous poet and prominent contemporary critic of Hindi. Introduction to Dr. Namwar Singh Teaching: The teaching work started from the Hindu University of Kashi (1953-1959) Professor and President of Hindi Department at Jodhpur University (1970-74) Professor Director of CMHindi University of Agra University (1974) Founder President and Hindi Professor (1965-92) of the Indian Language Center at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and now Professor Emeritus at the same University. Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University. Editing: Editor-in-Chief of the "Criticism" Quarterly. Editing the "Janayuga" weekly (1965-67) and "Criticism" (1967-91). Sahitya Akademi Award 1971 till now. Honors: Hindi Academy Delhi's "Shalaka Samman" (1991), Uttar Pradesh Hindi Institute's "Sahitya Bhushan Samman" (1993). Creations: 1996 Bakalam himself, The Yoga of Apabhramsa in the Development of Hindi, The Language of Prithviraj Raso, Trends in Modern Literature, Shadowism, History and Criticism. Edited Texts: Story: New Story, New Paradigms of Poetry, Discovery of Second Tradition, Debates and Disputations. Chintamani Part-3, Ramchandra Shukla Sanchayan, Hazariprasad Dwivedi: Compiled Essays, Today's Hindi Story, Modern Teaching Russian Poems, Forerunners of the Renaissance: Balakrishna Bhatt. नामवर सिंह हिन्दी के प्रसिद्ध कवि और प्रमुख समकालीन आलोचक हैं। डॉ. नामवर सिंह का परिचय अध्यापन : अध्यापन कार्य का आरम्भ काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय से (1953-1959) जोधपुर विश्वविद्यालय में हिन्दी विभाग के प्रोफेसर और अध्यक्ष(1970-74 ) आगरा विश्वविद्यालय के क.मु.हिन्दी विद्यापीठ के प्रोफेसर निदेशक (1974) जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय दिल्ली में भारतीय भाषा केन्द्र के संस्थापक अध्यक्ष तथा हिन्दी प्रोफेसर (1965-92) और अब उसी विश्वविद्यालय में प्रोफेसर इमेरिट्स । महात्मा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिन्दी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति । सम्पादन : “आलोचना” त्रैमासिक के प्रधान सम्पादक।“जनयुग”साप्ताहिक (1965-67) और “आलोचना” का सम्पादन(1967-91) 2000 से पुन: आलोचना का सम्पादन ।1992 से राजा राममोहन राय पुस्तकालय प्रतिष्ठान के अध्यक्ष । अब तक साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार 1971 । सम्मान: हिन्दी अकादमी दिल्ली के “शलाका सम्मान”(1991) उत्तरप्रदेश हिन्दी संस्थान के “ साहित्य भूषण सम्मान (1993) से सम्मानित । कृतियाँ : 1996 बकलम खुद ,हिन्दी के विकास में अपभ्रंश का योग ,पृथ्वीराज रासो की भाषा, आधुनिक साहित्य की प्रवृत्तियाँ, छायावाद, इतिहास और आलोचना । सम्पादित ग्रंथ : कहानी:नई कहानी , कविता के नये प्रतिमान,दूसरी परम्परा की खोज, वाद विवाद सम्वाद, कहना न होगा । चिंतामणि भाग-3 , रामचन्द्र शुक्ल संचयन , हजारीप्रसाद द्विवेदी:संकलित निबन्ध, आज की हिन्दी कहानी, आधुनिक अध्यापन रूसी कवितायें , नवजागरण के अग्रदूत : बालकृष्ण भट्ट ।
