Description | Twelve-frame comic strip. Pete, a tramp, watches a laborer dig a hole in the ground. He spies the man's lunch, and in order to earn food, picks up a shovel to help the worker. Together they dig a deep hole. The man settles down to lunch. He gives Pete his mug, indicating that Pete should fill it with water, which Pete does. Pete is angry when he realizes that the laborer has finished his lunch without offering him any, so when the man walks away, he fills in the hole. |
