Description | Broadside shows Saint Peter standing on a cloud, with book and keys in hand, bestowing a heavenly aura to two weary walking men. The text on the recto is a prayer to Saint Peter. On the verso the text tells the story of a miracle bestowed on Rosendo Castañeda whose life was spared after he invoked Saint Peter in prayer. Castañeda awakened from his sleep to find a huge snake in his bedding while he and his friend Cipriano López were camping out. With the help of Saint Peter López was able to slay the snake. Also on the verso is additional prayer in verse titled "Praises to Lord Saint Peter." |
