Description | Print shows a masked man, one of the Rōnin, with a sword attacking Osono, the estranged wife of Gihei, in order to cut her hair to the customary length of a nun making it impossible for her father to marry her off to someone else. While this is taking place Gihei is standing behind a wooden screen. Having passed the test of loyalty to the Rōnin's plan, Gihei is about to be rewarded with his wife's hair and receipt of the divorce letter he wrote in duress. |
