NDLI: A Grand Canyon Railway excursion train, which originates its runs from the town of Williams, 60 miles to the south, arrives at Grand Canyon National Park, which protects a steep-sided and winding gorge carved by the Colorado River across northern in Arizona. The canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles wide, and in spots is more than a mile deep
