A passenger (albeit made of stone) awaits his train at the historic North Bennington Railroad Station in North Bennington, Vermont. The station, built in 1880, fell into disrepair. It was restored in 1971 and turned into the village's seat of government. The sculpture is a product of the village's annual outdoor sculpture contest of more than 20 years running (as of 2017)
