NDLI: An old mining tunnel, high above Waterton Canyon, which carries the South Platte River from Jefferson to Douglas counties in Colorado, below Denver. The 6.2-mile Waterton Canyon Trail along the river, managed by the Denver Water utility and the U.S. Forest Service, is one of fitness-conscious Coloradans' favorite exercise venues
