NDLI: War Mothers honor America's Unknown Soldier. Washington, D.C., May 9. War Mothers from all over the country gathered at Arlington National Cemetery today to pay tribute to America's Unknown Soldier in observing Mother's Day. Wreaths were placed at the tomb and impressive ceremonies were conducted by the American war mothers, 5/9/1937
