NDLI: B-24 Liberator bomber and C-87 Liberator Express. The C-87 Liberator Express is equipped with twenty portable chairs that are set up when the plane is used to carry human cargo. When Army officials saw the need for transport planes early in the war, plans for the Liberator Express were drawn to utilize the B-24 Liberator bomber so that no time was lost in the production changeover
