NDLI: Tennessee Valley Authority Houses For Defense Workers. To help alleviate a serious housing shortage arising from increased employment in national defense industries, the Tennessee Valley Authority is building 100 conventionally built homes and 150 demountable houses for defense workers in the Muscle Shoals area in Northern Alabama.
