Description | Photographic postcard shows five German officers of the Reserveinfanterieregiment Nr. 119, facing front, seated behind a cloth covered table outdoors with tall bushes behind them. The officer on the far left holds a dachshund on his lap. They are identified by last name on the left side as: Flock (presumably the dog), Hack, Bayer, Kienzle, Schmied, and Pfeifle. On the verso they extend belated birthday greetings from "Kgl. Stab. R. I. R. 119" to Eberhard Freiherr von Ziegesar, commander of the 21st Infanteriebrigade, 11th Division. The card is dated 14 May 1917 and signed by Pfeifle, Bayer, and Kienzle. |
