Description | Four-panel comic strip in which Barnaby explains to his father that his fairy godfather Mr. O'Malley will be making a movie of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Author and illustrator Crockett Johnson introduced Barnaby and his fairy godfather Jackeen J. O'Malley to the pages of the newspaper PM in 1942. In 1945 or 1946 he turned the writing over to Ted Ferro and the task of illustration to Jack Morley. The feature, critically acclaimed, had a small audience and ran for a decade, ending in 1952. |
