Description | Editorial cartoon shows the class yearbook picture for President Carter. His list of accomplishments show that he was class president, captain of all the sports teams, president of the student council, voted "Best All Around" and "Most Likely to S쳮d" during his freshman year. For the next three years, he is listed only as "Energy Monitor." Carter began his administration on a wave of popularity, but his administration soon foundered and he was unable to have many of his programs enacted. Marlette drew cartoons for the Charlotte Observer and other southern newspapers from 1972 until his death in 2007 and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1988. He also drew the popular comic strip Kudzu. |
