Description | Six-panel comic strip shows Mandrake and his sidekick, the African prince Lothar, approaching a roadblock manned by plane robbers. Mandrake quickly hynotizes the robbers into thinking that his car has leaped over theirs. In the confusion, Mandrake and Lothar overpower the robbers. This is the conclusion to the storyline entitled "Sky Raid" which had begun in December 1960. Mandrake, who always appeared impeccably garbed in black tuxedo, cape, and black silk hat, was the first costumed crime fighter. The strip first appeared in 1934 and continues today. Lee Falk also created the strip, The Phantom. |
