Description | Nine-panel comic strip shows various people commenting on the fact that fledgling actress Mary Perkins is being helped by Gaye Brittle, an older more experienced actress. Gaye candidly admits that she plans to appropriate Mary's photographer friend Pete Fletcher. On Stage first appeared in 1957, chronicling Mary's adventures in the world of show business. The cartoonist, Leonard Starr, won a number of awards for the realistically drawn soap opera strip. When it ended in 1979, Starr successfully took over Little Orphan Annie, renamed Annie. |
