Berry's world. "I think we've put our finger on the reason for the low ratings - it's not a good time to be president"

Description | Single panel comic strip shows President Jimmy Carter conferring with Communications Director Gerald Rafshoon, who suggests that the reason for the President's low ratings in the polls is that it is the wrong time to be president. Carter never ranked very high in the polls during his presidency, and in this cartoon, Berry gives him a socially acceptable excuse. Berry's World, drawn from 1963 until February 2003, mixed straight comedy with social commentary, leaving editors to decide whether to carry it on the editorial or comic pages. |
