Description | Four-panel comic strip is one of sequence in which Jiggs, a wealthy Irishman of humble origins, his social-climbing wife Maggie, their daughter Nora, and a friend in a turban with a bushy beard, Dinty Moore, travel to Japan. In this strip, a Japanese messenger delivers to Dinty a costume for Jiggs, warning that while wearing the costume he must be sure to keep his hat on or his life will be in danger. Dinty happily goes off in a rickshaw, forgetting to give Jiggs the warning. The background in the strip shows elegantly drawn views of both the interior and exterior of Japanese buildings. |
