Description | Group portrait shows friends seated on a log: (left to right) William Davidson, Sarah Smith, Eleanor Pray, and Dr. Robert Ivy, with Dou Kee standing Behind. Their outing is described in Eleanor Pray's letter of July 23, 1899: "This morning it looked as if it might be fine, so we planned to go to Sedanka by train. We had to rush for time was short, so Fred went ahead to get tickets, and Sarah and I, Doctor, Mr. Davidson and Dou Kee just got the train and that was all. It was lovely out to Sedanka and we just sat around and did nothing but enjoy the fresh air and green leaves till it was time to go home again. You don't know what a treat it is to go out into the country for even a few hours." (Source: B. Ingemanson, 2002) |
