Description | Photographs and art reproductions, chiefly in a large format, depicting Lincoln at various stages in his life and career. Includes Lincoln with his family; with his cabinet; riding a horse; addressing soldiers; on his deathbed. Also includes images of his log cabin home in Kentucky; his home in Springfield, Ill.; the home of his great-great grandfather; the house where he wrote the Gettysburg address; photos of statues and monuments to Lincoln as well as reproductions of documents-- the Emancipation Proclamation and a letter Lincoln wrote to a mother whose sons were killed in the Civil War. Donations include: a copy photograph of a drawing of the interior of Ford's Theater on the night Lincoln was assinated and two copy photographs of painted portraits of Lincoln by President Dwight Eisenhower. Also, portraits by Anthony Berger (Brady Studio) from Feb. 1864 sitting. |
