Includes views of details of buildings and monuments of historical and artistic interest. Includes views and details of numerous sculptures including Saints Maurice and Catherine in Magdeburg; realistic figures of the ten virgins in the north transept; tomb of Otto I and Editha; other sculptures. Includes views of sculptures of Saints Peter und Paul in Naumburg and details of its four towers; painted arches and vaulting. Associated with of the "Führerauftrag Monumentalmalerei," an official German project to photograph immovable works of art threatened by bombing during the war, 1943-45.
