Description | Four-panel comic strip shows disk jockey Mark Slackmeyer reading a profile of former Attorney General John Mitchell, noting that accusations are widespread linking him to the Watergate scandal and subsequent cover up. Although Slackmeyer admits that nothing has been proved, he gleefully concludes Mitchell is "Guilty! Guilty, Guilty, Guilty!!" The Washington Post and a number of other papers refused to run the strip. Mitchell was eventually convicted and spent several years in prison. |
