Description | Cartoon shows Governor Charles W. Bryan looking in a mirror and seeing a reflection of his more famous older brother William Jennings Bryan. William was a silver-tongued orator, who dominated the Democratic party for almost 25 years. Charles strongly supported his brother's views, and the two jointly published the journal, "The Commoner." In 1924, the Democrats nominated Charles for Vice President, primarily to appease his brother's wing of the party. |
