Description | World War II cartoon shows Leon Henderson, the former head of the Office of Price Administration, in a wheelchair, greeting Prentiss Brown, whose head is bandaged and who is walking on crutches away from the "Office of O.P.A." Henderson suggests that Brown have a seat in an adjacent wheelchair. The OPA governed price controls and rationing and was one of the most unpopular wartime agencies. Henderson, its first head, resigned late in 1942 and Brown, his successor, lasted less than a year. |
