NDLI: Conversion. Rendering of household fats. Moisture and foreign matter from reclaimed household greases are drained from cookers into open vats at a rendering plant. The liquid next drains into a settling tank where additional tallow is recovered. The residue becomes cracklings, consisting of meat, bones and some fats, and will be used as animal food
