Abstract | This annual management report summarizes 2008 shellfish fisheries, excluding weathervane scallops Patinopecten caurinus, in the Kodiak, Chignik, and South Peninsula Districts of the Westward Region. Commercial fisheries occurred for Tanner crab Chionoecetes bairdi, Dungeness crab Cancer magister, giant Pacific octopus Octopus dofleini, and red sea cucumber Parastichopus californicus. Historically, these management districts also supported various Pandalid shrimp fisheries and red king crab Paralithodes camtschaticus fisheries. |
