Description	The frontispiece is the engraved t.p. of an earlier work: "Twenty engravings of lions, tigers, panthers & leopards by Tho. Landseer from originals by Stvbbs, Rvbens, Spilsbvry, Rembrant, Reydinger & Edwin Landseer, with an essay on the Carnivora by J. Landseer, 1823." The 20 engravings form the first 20 plates of the present work. Also available in digital form on the Library of Congress Web site.
