Description | Lakshmi Narayana on Garuda on a circular lotus pedestal in an enclosure mounted in the middle of a rectangular four-legged base, having lotus petal design on three sides. Garuda with a human form and spread out wings is kneeling on the right knee and left foot on the pedestal. Vishnu is four-armed and holds a gada and lotus in the right hands, chakra in rear left and conch in the front left, having across the back of Lakshmi. His right leg is suspended and left leg being tucked in front. He wears an elaborates crown, earrings, necklace yajnopavta, bracelets, anklets, vanamala and a lower garments worn with a beaded girdle. Lakshmi is seated on his left thigh with the right leg suspended and supported on the left hand of Garuda, the left leg is raised and bent. Her right arm is across the right shoulder of her consort. In the left suspended hand, she holds the stem of a lotus. She wears a crown, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, a scarf around the shoulders and a lower garments with tassel secured by a beaded girdle. This group is flanked by two standing female figures, the one to the proper right holding the stalk of a lotus in her left hand and to the proper left holding a chauri in her right hand. From the rear ends of the base rise, two pilasters crowned by the four-armed figure of Bharma and Shiva seated in padmasana. The outer sides of the pilasters are decorated. At the two ends of the horizontal shaft, surmounted on the plasters are depicted. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
