NDLI: Chepuka Mask

Description	This mask is broadly categorised into two parts - head gear and facial part. The head is completely covered by a cap like decorated headgear leaving a line of hair along the margin of the forehead. A light blue coloured band is there along the base of the cap. The upper flat vertical portion of the cap is decorated with the figure of two carved pink coloured snakes meeting in the centre along the median line. Two golden coloured symbolic figures are there on the two sides of the head region of the snakes. Facial features are broad forehead, specially designed eyebrows, almost circular eyes, extremely short and flat nose, wide oral opening more or less rectangular in shape exposing the teeth of both the jaws and the tip of the tongue. Face is absolutely flat. Terminal end of the moustache is ther on two sides of the oral opening. A narrow band of beard all along the facial margin. body colour : Yellow.
