Description | National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), New Delhi in collaboration with Rupayan Sansthan (RS), Jodhpur organised Workshop on “Museums and Intangible Natural Heritage with Focus on Desert” at Desert Culture Centre Museum, Jaisalmer. Dr. B . Venugopal, Director of NMNH informed that the objective of this workshop was to bring together all stakeholders interested in the INH of desert; to suggest a viable methodology for the inventorisation of desert INH; to act as capacity building exercise to museologists and to suggest themes for the development of an exhibition on INH. Shri Kuldeep Kothari informed that this workshop was structured towards gaining an understanding of the applications of various methodologies of heritage mapping as a viable tool for the inventorisation of Intangible Natural Heritage (INH). The academic sessions was through panel discussions on various themes like INH of Desert Plants; INH of Desert Animals; General themes on INH and INH aspects of Kalbelia. |
