Description | This video presents a unique camp of folk musicians comprising children of Langa and Manganiar, organized by the Rupayan Sansthan and Rajasthan Institute of folklore at Jodhpur. The camp was planned with a multipurpose view as the senior musicians were selected from certain geographical areas. They included vocalists and players of traditional folk instruments: Kamaicha, Sarangi, Dholak, Khartal, Murli from the surrounding villages of Jaisalmer district – Hamira, Barna, Kanol, Sanawada and in Barmer district Haduwa, Bisu, Biaya. They were exposed to different musical environment and various performing situations. Two songs of each participant was recorded. |
