Description | This video deals with the full biography of Raja Ram Mohan Roy in Bengali with Life Struggle and Opponents. He is considered the pioneer of the Bengal Renaissance Movement, which took place in the 19th century after the French Revolution (1789). He is the first modern Indian to give birth to modern India in the early British era. He was born on May 22, 1772, at Radhanagar Village in Hooghly District of then-India. His parents were Ramkanta Roy and Tarini Devi, who were heartily religious personalities. As Raja Ram Mohan Roy grew up, he gave up almost all the illogical religious customs and superstitious beliefs of Hinduism. Very quickly, he faced strong opponents, including his father and mother. After a long battle, he became successful in making a massive change in Hinduism. Not only that, he also fought bravely against traditional Islam and Christian religion. His best success is marked by his unbelievable battle for the banning of "Satidaho Protha," which took place in the year 1829. He went to England in 1830 for the fulfillment of his mission, i.e., banning "Satidaho Pratha" for ever from the soil of India. Meanwhile, he wrote many books in Bengali prose style, and for this contribution, he is called the pioneer of Bengali prose. He also advocated for the rights of Indian women with respect to the assets of their deceased fathers. Finally, he left his last breath in Bristol, England, on September 20, 1833. |
