Description | Fragonard traveled a great deal during his career, and always took the opportunity to copy images from the paintings and sculptures he saw. This etching shows the influence of the Baroque artist Johann Lys. The fine network of lines used by Fragonard, however, reflects his own exquisite drawing style rather than the blustery brushstrokes found in oil paintings such as Lys' s.
